In 1989, the Ventura County District Attorney's Office became the first office in California to successfully introduce D.N.A. "genetic fingerprinting" evidence in a criminal case.

Welcome to the Ventura County District Attorney's Web site. For many years, FBI crime reports have shown Ventura County to be one of the safest metropolitan areas in the United States. Since at least 1993, Ventura County has had the lowest overall crime rate of any metropolitan area in the Pacific region.

Thanks to the dedicated members of this office, the local police, Sheriff, California Highway Patrol, and, most importantly, the support of county residents, our community is a safe place

to live, work, and raise a family.  I am pleased to provide this opportunity for the citizens of Ventura County to learn more about the District Attorney's Office and to share your concerns with us.
